Our Financial Planning Process

Step 1: Initial Inquiry

You review the introductory materials & blogs on our website, then contact us. Over the telephone, we’ll provide a brief description of our services, philosophies, methodology, and fees structure. If our services appear to fit your needs, we’ll schedule a face-to-face meeting.

Step 2: Face-to-Face Meeting

Meeting is an opportunity for us to exchange information about your needs and objectives and further discuss if our services are right for you. If you decide to engage our services, we will give you a list of additional information needed to begin formulating your financial plan.

Step 3: Data Gathering and Initial Preparation

When we receive your information, we begin to review and develop your financial plan. We prepare initial reports and identify additional information needed. Just as you have to disclose a great deal of information to your doctor, your lawyer, and your accountant in order for them to do their job well, we will need a great deal of information to make professional recommendations.

Step 4: Analyse and Formulate Plan

We edit the initial information, as needed, and run additional scenarios, if applicable. We then conclude our research and analysis and produce final reports for your personal financial plan, adding our recommendations. As we move into Step 5, we will call to schedule a series of meetings for the presentation of your plan.

Step 5 : We Implement Together

The elements of your financial plan will differ depending on your situation, but generally, we review six facets of planning:

Accumulation: how to target asset growth, create more reliable investment forecasts, minimize overall risk, develop tax-efficient investment strategies, improve the risk-return trade-off in your portfolio

Step 6: Life Happens

You will hear from us throughout the year to discuss ideas, provide updates, and review how you are doing. We understand financial changes don’t happen on a regular schedule and we look forward to hearing from you whenever you need us. Otherwise, we typically meet annually to do a formal review of your situation and make any necessary adjustments.

Step 7: Share Milestones & Stay Connected

We have had the true pleasure of providing guidance to our clients to accomplish financial goals they never thought possible. These are the kinds of successes that many people don’t get to share, especially finances being a confidential topic, so we take great joy in celebrating them with you. Of course, we want to help you manage when other milestones occur, for instance, job change, marital change, loss of a loved one—so you can focus on what matters and leave the financial details to us.
